Power shower

Power showers

Power showers are a joy to experience and can provide a really invigorating start to the day. We have installed a huge variety of showers in all sorts of bathrooms and shower units from large designer bathrooms to small shower cubicles. We will have one that is just right for your space and budget.

Most people know what they mean when they talk about power showers, but many do not understand the basis for achieving a really good power shower. Often it is thought that the pressure of the shower is paramount, however, this is not the case. It is true, that for a decent power shower, a certain degree of water pressure is necessary, however, the flow of water through a power shower, is far more important for a pleasant showering experience. Many of the modern power shower controls and heads require very high rates of water flow to operate properly, this is where the design of the water supply system is so vital. It is no good installing a top of the range power shower setup, with body jets and deluge head, if the water supply system can only cope with a modest, basic mixer shower. We often find that upgrading the hot water system, usually to an unvented storage system, is the best solution to provide the required water flow and pressure for a modern power shower. There are however many excellent booster pumps on the market, some of which can cope with multiple power shower outlets. It may also be necessary to upgrade the incoming cold water mains pipe to ensure satisfactory operation of the power shower. Other important factors involve containing the water discharged from a power shower, this requires a high quality enclosure or screen, and making sure the waste water discharge pipe work can cope with the flow from the power shower. Correct choice of the shower valve and associated accessories and components is also key to ensuring a great power shower, we are happy to advise on these issues..
