Boiler Scrappage Scheme What is it? The boiler scrappage scheme is intended to help people replace old, inefficient gas boilers with new higher efficiency models, or other forms of renewable energy heating. Who is eligible? Any householder or tenant in the UK, who has a band G efficiency boiler that is in working order, and is their main source of heating is eligible to apply for the grant from the Boiler Scrappage Scheme. How do you know if your boiler is band G efficiency? A good test for gas boilers is to see if it has a permanent pilot light -if it has then it is very likely to be a G-rated boiler.
