Solar power installation - Heald Green
Solar photovoltaic panels were installed on the roof of this detached house in Heald Green, Cheshire. Most solar installations use a South facing roof but this system utilises East an facing roof as well as South. The installation can also accoommodate some shading due to a sophisticated control system.
As this roof has two faces with panels and potentenial shading from the chimney individual control modules are used to turn on and off panels according to the strength and location of the sun and thereby enhance the performance of the standard panel by up to 25%.
The control unit (inverter) can be linked to the internet and the performance of whole installation can be monitored via a web portal.
